Our Aims

To work together to reduce the incidence and impact of accidental injuries to children, 0-16 years of age, in the community.

Our members provide a co-ordinated approach to child accident prevention using local knowledge, expertise and shared resources.

The alliance currently includes representation from:

Family Nursing and Home Care (Paediatric Health Visiting, School Nurses)
Health and Social Services (Accident and Emergency Department, Paramedics, Community Paediatrics)
Home Affairs (Fire and Rescue, Police and Road Safety)
Education, Sport and Culture
Public Health
Jersey Child Care Trust
Trading Standards Service
Headway
Housing
Youth Service
Transport & Technical Services


Our success lies in the representatives high degree of commitment to child accident prevention coupled with the support and involvement of their respective senior managers.

The group is divided into Strategic and Operational membership.
The Strategic group works hard in identifying priorities via statistically evidence based practice, in order to set clear aims and objectives for future projects, develop the strategic policy for child accident prevention initiatives, co-ordinate and implement activities, analyse data, allocate resources and obtain adequate funding.
The Operational group's role is primarily to deliver the strategic plan through a program of operational activities.
