Jersey trampoline facts

Trampoline accidents are going down, but injuries are still happening. The most common reasons for having a trampoline accident in 2009 were:
  • Landing awkwardly.
  • Falling off because of no net.
  • More than one on at a time.
  • Somersaults on the trampoline

2004 - 91 children injured - 5 Jersey hospital admissions
2005 - 93 children injured - 5 Jersey hospital admissions
2006 - 87 children injured - 3 Jersey hospital admissions
2007 - 73 children injured - 6 Jersey hospital admissions
2008 - 87 children injured - 4 Jersey hospital admissions
2009 - 74 children injured - 3 Jersey hospital admissions

Over half of the children attending the Jerseys accident department because of a trampoline injury were there because of a PREVENTABLE accident. 
The average age of injury was 9 years.
The most common place for an accident was at a public place, then at home.
